The Lone Ranger: un membro della troupe annega sul set /Crew member drowns on set

Tragedia sul set di The Lone Ranger, adattamento cinematografico della serie tv del Ranger Solitario diretto da Gore Verbinski.

La Disney ha confermato all’Hollywood Reporter che oggi un membro della troupe del film è morto in quello che sembra essere stato un annegamento. Pochi i dettagli attualmente a disposizione; la notizia è stata diffusa da TMZ e la Disney ha riferito quanto segue:

”Ci rattristiamo nel confermare che un membro della troupe è morto oggi dopo essere stato portato in un ospedale locale. I nostri pensieri e i nostri cuori sono con la sua famiglia, gli amici e i colleghi in questo difficile momento, il nostro sostegno andrà all’indagine che cercherà di comprendere le circostanze di questo tragico evento.”

A quanto pare l’uomo è morto durante l’allestimento di una scena d’azione che doveva essere girata sott’acqua, forse per un infarto. La persona non era uno stunt, e non è morta durante le riprese.

Le riprese del kolossal western proseguono da alcuni mesi, e si sono tenute in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado e Utah; attualmente si stanno svolgendo a Los Angeles: giusto ieri vi mostravamo nuove immagini dal set. Non si è trattata di una produzione semplice: dai ritardi alle false partenze, passando per problemi di budget e disavventure meterologiche (tempeste di vento e sabbia), fino a piccoli incidenti come quello occorso a Johnny Depp durante le riprese di una cavalcata. Questa tragedia, ovviamente, è di ben altra portata.

1:10PM  PST Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the movie wasn’t being shot today,  and the person who died in the tank was prepping it — possibly cleaning it –  when someone noticed no bubbles from the gear were surfacing.  That’s when  they pulled the man out of the water.
A Walt Disney spokesperson just  confirmed our story, saying, “We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew  member has passed away after being taken to a local hospital,” adding “our full  support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible  event.”
2:28PM PST Law enforcement sources tell us, it  appears he had a heart attack. Investigators are treating it as a “natural  death.” An autopsy will be completed over the weekend.

A crew  member working on the new Johnny Depp movie “The Lone  Ranger” died this morning after drowning on the set and going into full  cardiac arrest … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us …  the man was a diver who was working in a tank on the Los Angeles set … when  something went wrong.
We’re told someone on the crew called 911 to  report a medical emergency … and when responders arrived to the scene the man  was in full cardiac arrest.
He was helicoptered to a nearby hospital,  but EMTs were unable to restart his heart on the flight. Law enforcement sources  tell us he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
