Bellissime parole che arrivano da Terry David Mulligan nei riguardi di Johnny! Non c’è alcun dubbio, sulla bellezza d’animo del nostro beniamino …

Ciò che ricordo è che vi era un edificio industriale vicino al più piccolo edificio in China town (Pender and Carrall) e dietro di esso vi era il set di 21 Jump Street.
L’intero edifico andò in fiamme, visto che era di legno. Mi piaceva stare in quella zona e in quel set. Sembrava che fosse vissuto, e che gli attori vivessero e dormissero lì. Avevo una strana sensazione riguardo a quel posto.
Una delle ultime volte che ho visto Johnny Depp a Vancouver, stavo passeggiando sulla Fourth Avenue, e c’era un ragazzo che stava lottando con un materasso, cercando si portarlo giù dalle scale e su un furgoncino. Ho detto: “Lasciati aiutare” così l’ho afferrato e lo abbiamo messo nel furgoncino. Ho guardato chi fosse ed era Johnny che si stava trasferendo. L’ho visto in giacche e roba simile, l’ho visto a New York una sera. Era in un ristornate di lusso ed era pieno di telecamere che cercavano di entrare. Mi sono infilato passando la security, lui mi ha visto e mi ha salutato. Ci siamo seduti e abbiamo parlando per 20 minuti su Vancouver. Questo dopo che è diventato una grande star. È molto fedele con le persone che ha incontrato durante il suo cammino.

What I remember most is that they were in an industrial building near the world’s narrowest building [at Pender and Carrall in Chinatown]. In behind there was where the set of 21 Jump Street was.
That whole building burnt down, it was all wood. I loved being in that area and on that set. It looked like it was lived in, that the actors lived and slept there. It had a nice funky feel to it.
One of the last times I saw Depp in Vancouver, I was walking up Fourth Avenue by CFUN [in the 1900 block]. And there was a guy struggling with a mattress, one guy trying to bring a mattress downstairs and out into a panel van. I said, ‘Let me help,’ and I grabbed one end and we walked it over. I looked up and it was Depp, who was moving.
I’ve seen him on junkets and stuff. I saw him in New York one night. He was at the top of a restaurant and every camera crew known to mankind was outside trying to get in. I slipped in and walked up past security, he saw me and waved me in. We sat down and talked for 20 minutes about Vancouver. This is after he was a big star. He’s very loyal to people he’s met along the way.
